IMary
K. Roberts, age 72, of
Springfield Twp., passed away
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007, at Hospice
of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. A
graduate of
Burnham
High School, Mary received her
Bachelor's Degree from Michigan
State University in 1956. She was
recognized for outstanding community
service with the Order of Pearl
Award by her Kappa Delta Sorority
and was instrumental in organizing a
chapter at the University of Toledo.
Mary taught 3rd grade for the Battle
Creek, MI school system and for the
Homebound Program, in Sylvania.
Years later, she worked as a Credit
Manager for the Commerce Paper
Company. Her memberships were many
and included: the Lucas County
Mental Health Board, where she
served as the Allocation Chairperson
for 2 of her 3 terms; the former
Decum Center, now the Anne Grady
Center, where she was President;
Lutheran Homes Foundation Committee
and Lutheran Society Board; and the
Junior Chamber of Commerce, where
she was President and Jaycette of
the Year. Mary is survived by her
husband of 51 years, S. Dean
Roberts; sons, Craig (Anne) Roberts,
of Sylvania, Jeff (Kathy) Roberts,
of Perrysburg, and Bradley Roberts,
of Toledo; and grandchildren,
Christine, Caroline, Justin, and
Lauren. Friends may visit at the
Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St.,
Sylvania, on Friday, May 11, 2007
from 4-9 p.m. The funeral service
will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at All
Saints Lutheran Church, 5445
Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio
