Arvel Ray Henderson

1950 to 2007

 

 Arvel "Ray" Henderson, age 56, of Toledo passed away Saturday, August 4th, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Ray was born September 22, 1950, to Arvel and Ruth (Hawn) Henderson. For 33 years, he was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 2001. For several years, Ray took great pride as an active participant in local fundraising efforts for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For Ray, family and friends always stood as sources of fulfillment that he forever cherished. The time spent with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews was something in which he always found great happiness and joy. Ray, indeed, was a lover of life, and he truly appreciated the experiences it had to offer. Ray is survived by his wife, Penny; daughter, Tina Perry, of Tampa, FL; sons, Ray Henderson, of Holland, and Michael and Charles Monica, both of Toledo; grandchildren, Alexa and Dalton Perry; mother, Ruth Henderson; sister, Vicky Henderson and brother, Tony Henderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvel Carl Henderson. Visitation will be held at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, from Noon until 9:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9th, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, 700 W. Central, LaFollette, TN, where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Ray will be laid to rest at Baker's Forge Cemetery.
