Robert E.
Johnson, age 82, of Sylvania,
OH, passed away at Hospice of
Northwest Ohio Perrysburg on
Thursday, October 25, 2007. Robert
was
born
on September 10, 1925, in Toledo,
OH. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran
serving in the Philippines during
WWII. He was married in 1951 to
Beverly (Flegle) Johnson. Robert was
retired from Seaway Beverage where
he worked for over 35 years in
sales. He was a very active member
of The Moose Lodge #1579 in
Sylvania, OH. Robert enjoyed people
and they enjoyed him, and he was a
real jokester as he loved a good
laugh. Robert was deeply devoted to
his family and friends and was an
avid model train enthusiast. He was
a lifelong musician who loved to
sing and play many instruments. He
also loved to travel and was a huge
fan of John Wayne as he watched all
of his movies time and time again.
Left to cherish his memory are his
loving wife of 56 years, Beverly
Johnson, of Sylvania, OH; daughter,
Linda Reideler, of FT. Myers, FL;
sons, Jeff (Kathy) Johnson and
Robert Johnson, both of Sylvania,
OH; grand-children, Jessica Rickard,
Nicole, Neal, William, Tyler and
Austin Johnson; great-grandchild,
Madison Rickard; brother, Larry
(Kathy) Gurney of Castalia, OH; and
all of his many friends from the
Moose Lodge. Robert was preceded in
death by his parents Leo Johnson and
Carolyn (Heckart) Gurney and
grandson, Dylan Johnson. Friends may
call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712
N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, on
Friday, October 26th, from 4 p.m.
until 9 p.m. with a Moose Lodge
service at 7 p.m. Services will be
held Saturday, October 27th at 11:30
a.m. in the funeral home. Interment
will follow at Toledo Memorial Park
with military burial honors. Those
wishing to give memorials, in lieu
of flowers, are asked to consider
