Diana
M. (Schmidt) Pisula, 62,
of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday
April 16, 2008 surrounded by her
loving family. She was born
September 25, 1945 to Roland and
Helen (Grinnell) Schmidt. She
married the love of her life John J.
Pisula Jr. on May 7, 1966.
Diana
spent her childhood in Ottawa Lake,
MI. She moved to Toledo at age 10
and attended Whittier Elementary
School and DeVilbiss High School.
She worked at the Toledo Health
Department before her children were
born and
later part-time at The Toledo-Lucas
County Public Library. However, the
main calling of her life was as a
wife, mother and grandmother. She
built a home filled with love,
making lasting memories for all. She
loved the warm sun and traveled
Florida, Mexico and Caribbean. She
enjoyed camping, boating at Anchor
Pointe Marina and her backyard pool.
Diane
leaves behind a legacy of strength
and courage. She was an inspiration,
living with kidney failure for 26
years on dialysis and as a breast
cancer survivor. As her health
faded, her love of family &
friends and faith in God kept her
going. She was grateful to all those
who lovingly cared for her over the
years including doctors, nurses,
Bunkettes, friends, neighbors and
especially her husband Jack.
Diane
is survived by her husband of almost
42 years. Also surviving are her
children; Susan (Mark) Huffman,
Tricia (Darryl) McDonald, Gina
(Brian) Fischer, grandchildren;
Ryan, Rachel and Joshua Huffman,
Lindsey McDonald, and Anna, Darby
and Reid Fischer, sister; Lori
(Gary) Gillmore, brothers; Tom
Schmidt and Dennis Schmidt,
sister-in-law; Jeanne Cutcher,
brothers-in-law; Richard (Isabella)
Pisula, Tom (Pat) Pisula, Bob (Joan)
Pisula, Don (Mary) Pisula. Diane was
preceded in death by her infant son
Ronald Pisula, parents and in-laws
John and Elizabeth Pisula. She will
be greatly missed by all who knew
her.
Visitation
at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania,
OH will be held on Sunday, April 20
from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm., with a
Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.
Catholic Mass will be held at Christ
the King Catholic Church on Monday,
April 21 at 10:00 am, with prayers
preceding the service. Graveside
services will follow at Ft. Meigs
Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions in
her name can be made to Notre Dame
Academy, 3535 Sylvania Ave, Toledo,
OH 43623
