Linda Kay Keister

1948 to 2008

  Linda Kay Keister, 60, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Monday May 5, 2008, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a 1966 graduate of Sylvania High School. Linda attended Mary Manse College, and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Special Education.

Linda was employed with the Sautter Food Center, Sylvania before beginning her career with the Sylvania City Schools, where she served as the Intervention Specialist at the Highland Elementary School for more than 17 years.

She was a Charter Member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1788, a long and active member of the Sylvania Historical Society, and a member of the Toledo Humane Society.

Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. Her enduring strength and courage has been an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was proud to have participated in the Relay for Life, sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, with her team, the “Fruit Loops” from Highland Elementary School, Sylvania.

She is survived by her loving mother Norma Keister; sister Patty (Don) Vineyard; brothers Earl (Cherry), Harold “Bud”, and John Keister; 5 nieces; 5 nephews, 4 great-nieces; and 5 great-nephews, with 2 on the way. Linda was preceded in death by her father Earl R. Keister; and nephew Kenneth Keister.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Friday May 9th from 3 – 9 PM, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 AM.

Linda considered the Staff of Highland Elementary School her extended family, she loved you all, and we thank you for the support and many kindness that were offered during her illness.

She was a gentle, kind, and loving daughter, sister, and aunt, we will always love her and she will remain forever in our hearts.
