Florence
G. (Rose) Dunbar, age 84, went to be
with the Lord on Sunday, July 20,
2008 in her Sylvania Township
residence, with her loving family by
her side.
Florence
was a devoted wife and mother, as
well as an enterprising woman who
began her noteworthy career in hair
styling at the Beauty Bar, in the
former Spitzer Building in downtown
Toledo . She then advanced to the
still-operating Pembroke Beauty
Salon which she ultimately
purchased. Florence later designed,
owned, and operated an extraordinary
business called the Florence Salon;
characterized by a fireplace, plush
carpet, and a sparkling chandelier.
Most exceptional before retiring in
1978, Florence was the innovator of
the first salon in Toledo to serve
both men and women- the His &
Her Salon.
The
widow of Roger G. Dunbar, Florence
is survived by her daughters: Glenn
Ann (Richard) Anteau, of Sylvania
Twp., Irene Rose, and Audene (David)
Taylor, both of Sylvania ; son:
Frank Szymanski, of Ottawa Lake, MI
; grandchildren: Benjamin, Ethan,
Sean, Wade, Jessie "Spyder",
Eli, and Joseph; sister: Evelyn
Welsheimer; and loyal canine
companion: Penny.
She
was preceded in death by her
parents: Howard and Jessie
(Nicodemus) Rose and brothers:
Frank, Glenn, Joe, Richard, and Paul
Rose.

may call at the Reeb Funeral Home,
5712 N. Main St., Sylvania on
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 4-8PM,
where the funeral service will be
held on Thursday, at 11AM, Reverend
Tom L. Benefiel officiating.
Interment will follow in Toledo
Memorial Park .
